I don't have the answers yet, but I have learned enough to be dangerous, and ask better questions..
Happy Thanksgiving
Just for today, I hope you have a lot to be thankful for. Even if the only thing you can think of is that you opened your eyes this morning...well that sure beats the alternative! As my ex used to say, every day above ground is a good day.
So it is.
I am enjoying the chopping, the cooking, the aromas. My daugher, inspired by uncle Tony making 4 of his world famous pumpkin pies, one of which we will eat as a pre-dinner appetizer :-0 created her own pear tart.
Well, that is, she decided to something with an odd bit of pie crust, and Tony and I decided a pear tart would be the thing. Auntie Stanya made the crust more decorative, and pretty soon everyone forgot that they were supposed to be cooking the dinner! We were all making the teensiest most perfect pear tart in the world.
The James Bond marathon is back on TBS this year - and of course, I love them all.
A fat gray squirrel came to the window. My daughter, Stanya and I were entranced by her daring, and we tapped the window. She watched us with bright round eyes. Then she left in a huff because she wasn't invited to dinner and no one left anything out for her.
Back to the creamed spinach, sauteed peppers, sweet potatoes, and Turkey soup making efforts.
I think it's time for a glass of wine. There are 12 making their way to our table tonight!
It's a good day to be thankful, and filled with love.
Happy Thanksgiving!
