I don't have the answers yet, but I have learned enough to be dangerous, and ask better questions..

How can it be this close and yet so far away!!!! Where was the youth vote? What happened in Florida? What is happening in Ohio? Why are there states that seem to be undecided?

Does this mean the country is really that split down the middle? Is it really polar as the newspapers claim?

Or does it mean that the candidates were so close as to be indistinguishable, and therefore people voted more along the lines of "Bush is religious and so am I", or "How bad could four more years be?"

In my own polls, I found people were voting for Bush because John Edwards as prez is a frightening prospect. They were voting for Bush because they wanted to be perceived as wealthier. They voted for Bush because, well, let's just see what he does with four more years.

Only 10% of the people I polled were even vaguely aware of a neocon agenda. Fewer cared about our image and levels of relationships in the world. Many mothers with teenage boys - now they were aware that their sons are in imminent danger of being ground up in a war machine....

But here we are.

What a sad sad day.

I guess my unconscious was picking up on the election outcome yesterday....
