I don't have the answers yet, but I have learned enough to be dangerous, and ask better questions..

Why keep exotic animals?
I don't get why people need to have pets like cockatoos, pythons, boas, iguanas, and other exotics. There is a shrieking cockatoo going off in the next room on the hour if anyone so much as breathes loudly in the house. This bird is supposed to be off flying over the Amazon, and eating whatever nuts and fruits grow wild there. Instead, I am slipping her grapes and zuccini to shut her up.

This can't be a good thing.

No the bird isn't mine. It just is in the house I am camping in at the moment.

But every time I look at that shrieking thing, it makes me sad because I know this isn't where it belongs.

So why do people do this? Why not leave these things alone where they are happy?
